Academic Activities

        Before the start of every academic year each department holds exploratory meetings presided over by the Head of the Department to earmark portions of the syllabi for each teacher. A time frame also is made beforehand so that the teachers have adequate time to prepare and discuss their portion of the course as well as to get a feed-back from the students.

Assessment: All the taught courses (Honours in Arts subjects and all General subjects) are assessed through a variety of assignments and examinations. New semester system of 10 marks for the internal evaluation , 5 marks for attendance and 60 for the external written examination as per University rules is being followed.

Attendance in classes (Minimum compulsory attendance in class is 75% for appearing in University Examination as per order of Supreme Court).

Research Activities:

  • Cancer biology in the Dept. of Physiology funded by University Grants Commission
  • In the dept. of Zoology funded by DST.
  • In the Dept. of Physics funded by Science and Technology.

Seminars:

The college organises seminars and popular talks on diverse topics of academic and social interest where students and teachers have the opportunity to interact. Eminent educationists are invited as resource persons to deliver lectures on different issues. Advanced students of different honours are also asked to participate in the seminars on a competitive basis.
